An original CFA pattern and a guide favorite, I like to use this fly in a lot of different situations. The tungsten head and soft hackle make it a great lead fly in a two (or three) fly nymph rig and it also serves well under a larger attractor or hopper in a dry-dropper rig. It replicates a stonefly and a caddis, and can also serve as a general searching pattern. Soft hackle collar gives off great movement. This heavily weighted and highly versatile fly can break up some slumps on slower days, especially in different colors and sizes. The CFA Mirage Nymph has caught multiple species in lakes and rivers, from trout to bass. Avalable with a brass bead as well.  Guide's Favorite The peacock serves well as an attractor and the black serves well as a stonefly.
