If you've spent any significant time fly fishing in the winter you've probably run across the little black stonefly. Often a very indescriminent hatch, the little black stonefly hatch can sometimes be some of the best dry fly fishing in the colder months. The little black stonefly hatch is very inconspicuous. We often don't notice the hatch unless we see spent adults on the snow banks. Our Iris Stimulator gives off a prism of natural colors on it's underbody while retaining visibilty for the angler with it's green indicator. This is one of our favorite winter time dry flies and it's capable of holding a small to medium size dropper below it.
