MEET COACH STEVE

Coach Steve is our resident YouTube personality, and we are honored to have him join our Colorado Fly Angler Community. Steve was referred to us by none other than Robert & Ki, 2 of our Ambassadors who happen to follow Coach on YouTube. Upon running into Coach on one of their many fishing outings and recognizing him from YouTube, they mentioned CFA & our flies to him, and the CFA Community was off and running. COACH STEVE'S BIO

I grew up fishing all over Kansas chasing largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish! When I was in high school I discovered fly fishing and all the trout rivers in Missouri and Arkansas!

After graduating from KU in 1997 with a degree in Environmental Science, I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to be a park ranger and fish for trout, and talk to anglers every single day!

I own a drift boat with a friend and chase trout all over Colorado and Wyoming.

I own a drift boat with a friend and chase trout all over Colorado and Wyoming. The last several years I have taken the family on extended vacations in Florida chasing Red fish, Pompano, Whiting, Speckled Trout, and the latest obsession: Big sharks on conventional tackle kayaking out the bait!

I have lived on the front range of Colorado for 26 years now and continue to fly fish every opportunity that I can. I love all fish equally and fish flatwater as often as I fish rivers and streams.

My wife homeschools our 3 kids. My kids travel with me to work to play tennis, and get out as often as possible to fish!

I’m also a tennis coach here in Colorado and run overnight Adidas tennis camps at Colorado State University, in Fort Collins. I also run the parks/rec tennis programs for the City of Loveland, Colorado and I'm Director of the "Front Range Academy".
